Eleanor Coombe is a popular children's author with more than forty books to her credit. She loves the wilderness and the landscape has a great influence on her writing. During her formal education, Eleanor developed a fascination for legends and metaphysics. From her early twenties, Eleanor travelled widely throughout the Middle East, Europe and Asia where she further explored the myths of each country. While living in Rome, she spent her time with an archaeologist and art historian exploring Greek, Roman and Etruscan history. Her interests were expanded when she worked as a research assistant in Aboriginal pre-history in Australia. She also studied herbal medicine, alchemy and completed a Graduate Diploma in Professional Communication and wrote a book on Superstitions for Landsdowne Press which has been translated into Spanish and sells widely throughout the world.

Eleanor recently moved to Tamania and has been busy writing more children's books. She also completed two adult ghost stories and a collection of short stories.

In 2009 first of the Faraway Fairies series was published by Lothian books.

The twelve Faraway Fairy books made the Australian list of Books Alive, the top 50 books you can’t put down, recommended and sponsored by the Australian Government.

Eleanor also writes under the pseudonym of Dan Jerris and has 18 titles in the series the Dragon Blood Pirates. www.dragonbloodpirates.com.

Eleanor also lectured in communications at Canberra University and was awarded a Distinguished Alumni Award for her work as the author of many successful children’s books and children’s games.

The Arky Steele series, Guardian of the Tomb and The Cursed City were published July 2013.

She is currently enjoying farm life in Tasmania and renovating a run down farm and house and putting in a vineyard. All new experiences for her and very entertaining.
