Well, I'm not sure where to begin. Let's see...
You can call me Lotus. Since I was a kid, I never really enjoyed going to school. I always prefer learning things myself by reading books, magazines, etc., watching documentaries, educational films, and tv shows, and so on and so forth. I think you already know what I mean. However, due to family pressure, I had to drag myself to attend boring classes because we have this (cultural) belief that everybody must finish their formal education in order to succeed in life. I'm not a believer of that, but I also didn't want to disappoint anybody.
Anyway, since I have always been fond of novels, essays, poems, and other literary pieces, I chose to take up Bachelor of Arts in English majoring in Literature. However, it turned out to be so-not-worth-it because most of the instructors in the university I was enrolled at didn't even know anything about literature! I mean, seriously, I think I even know more than they did because they had no idea what they were talking about; they simply check the attendance, tell everyone to read such and such, and then leave the class. So what's the point of paying them when I can just do a self-study?
Aside from literature, there are tons of things that I am very interested in. I love cooking so I plan to enroll in culinary arts to obtain a certificate just in case it's required by whomever or wherever I decide to work for as a chef. I know different cuisines and am still continuing to learn more. I love good food! Desserts are my weakness. Whenever I'm in bad mood, all it takes is a sweet something and I'm back to normal.
Writing is also one thing I enjoy doing. I love writing about anything that comes to my mind. It helps in making me feel lighter and better, especially at times when there's a lot going on in my mind or there's something I need to let out. I think this is the main reason I decided to sign up here. LOL ;)
Traveling is my passion. I can't stay in one place for a long time because it makes me crazy. There's nothing like visiting different places, admiring the view, learning different things, meeting people, and just enjoying the whole experience. It helps me to grow and to broaden my perspectives. It is truly educational and life-changing.
There are several things that I want to share more, but I guess that's enough for now since you'll learn more about me eventually when you read my articles. Thanks for checking out my page! :)
