Cézanne is a third generation horseman and until it's closing in 2007, was the Breeding Manager for Sandy Arledge Quarter Horses. Growing up in rural San Diego she had the chance to learn from many excellent trainers, some of whom are now very well known, including Mr. Ray Hunt, Ms. Mercedes Cicliano and Ms. Sandra Arledge. After starting out in the Hunter discipline, Cézanne moved into showing Halter and Western Pleasure Quarter Horses. She briefly did a stint showing Gaited Morgans in the Halter, Showmanship and Saddle Seat but eventually went back to the Western side of the horse industry.
During her time as Breeding Manager she got to know many people including working for a short time for "Scoop" Vessels. She also got to know hundreds of nice horses, including Ima Smokin Zipper, Skipa Heathen and First Down Dash. At the height of her breeding business, Sandy had upwards of 35 foals born in the Spring. Quite an accomplishment for a 23 acre ranch. But they had an alli in Sandy's great friend Suzanne Warner of Warner Ranch. She allowed Sandy to put many of the mares and foals on her huge ranch in Pala, CA so Cézanne had her hands full traveling back and forth to take care of everyone. Sandy's foals were very well received and were usually sold before their yearling year.
Currently, Cézanne is Team Roping and Team Sorting. She owns one mare, a double-bred Blue Valentine mare that has done very well in the roping pen and is now excelling in sorting. Plans are to breed her to a son of Mr. Jess Perry named Captain Courage in the spring of 2013. She's already had offers on the unborn foal but is waiting to see what is produced. She also owns a son of He's Real Blue and a grandson of Gallo del Cielo. Both rope horses with great minds and superior athleticism.
