St. Mary's Health Wagon was a simple mobile clinic initially reaching out to a few patients. It now encompasses two stationary clinics, four mobile units, a pharmacy, and a cutting-edge dental facility. As America’s oldest mobile free clinic, it is a vital healthcare safety net for southwestern Virginia's most vulnerable populations, with nearly 29,000 patient encounters in 2024 alone.
