NFL legend Jim Brown passed away on May 19th, 2023 at age 87. Many consider him the greatest Running Back ever. He played 9 years and led the NFL in Rushing in 8 of those 9 years. He was a 3x MVP and averaged over 100 yards a game for his career. Amazingly he never missed a game in his NFL career.

On 1/10/23 legendary Rock guitarist, Jeff Beck passed away at 78. No one will ever be able to duplicate his unique sound. Eric Clapton said, "It's like he's pulling the strings." Jimmy Page said in 2009 when he inducted Beck into Rock & Roll Hall "Jeff has gotten better with age."

Traveling to See the Country of Your Ancestors is a Trip You Won't Regret Making.
If you haven't already made your pilgrimage back to the country of your ancestors, I recommend you do so. I made mine when I was 34. I went to Italy to visit the birthplace of my grandparents (Sicily). I also spent time in Northern Italy visiting a friend in Rome and relatives in Asti.

I was 9 when my father took my brother and me to our first MLB game. It was at Shea Stadium in Flushing, Queens. The Pirates played the Mets. The Mets won 11-9. I was so excited with my glove in hand. I lost my voice from rooting so hard. I saw Ron Swoboda and Willie Stargell both hit homeruns.

On 8/31/20, legendary Mets pitcher Tom Seaver passed away. He was my childhood baseball hero and my favorite Met. A man I respected for his talent, leadership, and what he accomplished. Seaver was a Hall of Fame pitcher who won 311 games, won a World Series, and won 3 Cy Young Awards.

Remembering your first car is like remembering your first kiss, your first relationship. For me, it was a 1969 Chevelle Malibu with a 6-cyclinder 250 engine. It was turquoise with a white painted top. It was so easy to keep clean and repair, especially tune-up.

Rams beat the Bengals 23-20 in Super Bowl 56. Stafford and Donaldson came up big. Kupp was named the MVP.
Rams won Super Bowl 56, 23-20 in LA. They didn't cover the spread, were 4.5 point favorites. The trade that brought Stafford to the Rams has paid off. Bengals had the lead late in the 4th quarter but a determined Stafford led his team to victory. He threw 3 TDs, two to Kupp who was the MVP.

Boston, it was the Red Sox 6-2 over the Yankees in the wild card game. In the 1st, Bogaerts a 2-run HR. In the 3rd Schwarber a solo HR. Cole was relieved in the 3rd. He went 2 innings allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, struck out 4, and walked 2. Eovaldi went 5.1 innings allowed 1 run on 4 hits, 8 Ks.

In Game 4 of the ALCS, after a 1.5-hour rain delay, it ended 6-5 Houston. Astros completed the series sweep and go on to play the Phillies in the World Series. The Yankees blew a 3-0 lead. Pena hit a 3-run HR that tied the game at 3-3. Yankees couldn't contain the Astros and their season ends.

Mercury International bought what was Dowling College in Oakdale in 2017 in a bankruptcy sale. They sold the property on 12/17/21 for $42 million to China Orient Asset Management Co. Ltd which is based in Beijing. They are connected to Mercury. This foreign company neglected the prized property.
