Jean Valone is a French-American writer originally from a small village in the Pyrenees moutains. His lineage is disputed, but he claims to be the illegitimate grandson of philospher-writer Jacque Derrida. He immigrated to Montreal, Canada in his adolescence to work at a cafe owned by a friend. After being deported for multiple counts of burglary, he sought asylum in the United States with a cousin in the Midwest. Today he resides in the urban core of Kansas City and holds a Bachelor's degree in English and a Master's degree in creative writing. He currently teaches part time and writes freelance.
