Jem Sirrine (jemsirrine)

Jem Sirrine is the PGA/ECR team lead for International Customs Clearance at FedEx Logistics in Memphis, Tennessee. He has been with the company for nearly three years, managing key responsibilities, including coordinating with government agencies, training new employees, and troubleshooting shipment issues. He is also tasked with ensuring that shipments comply with regulations, developing training materials, and contributing to improving the clearance process. His efforts are integral to ensuring smooth operations for high-value shipments and resolving any challenges.

Jem began his career as an Athletic Training Intern with the Cleveland Indians in Winter Haven, Florida, after earning his Bachelor’s in Athletic Training from Appalachian State University. In this role, he assisted in the rehabilitation and treatment of injuries to both minor and major league players. Afterward, he became a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Central Florida, where he earned a Master of Arts in Exercise Physiology.

In 2000, Sirrine took on the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer at Winter Park High School, working alongside the Head Athletic Trainer to cover all varsity and junior varsity sports. His responsibilities included pre-practice treatments, supervising athletic training interns, and teaching Personal Health, Fitness, and Team Sports courses. He became the Head Athletic Trainer at Warner University in Lake Wales, Florida. He oversaw 16 varsity sports, managed the department’s budget, and collaborated with orthopedic surgeons to expand the Sports Medicine team. He also taught courses on Athletic Training, First Aid, and CPR.

Jem then worked as an Athletic Trainer for Bond Clinic in Winter Haven, where he helped grow the orthopedic department and forged new community relationships. His duties included providing athletic training services to schools, conducting patient evaluations, and handling insurance billing for the Physical Therapy Department.

After 11 years as Head Athletic Trainer at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, managing a team of certified athletic trainers and working on several facility designs, Sirrine transitioned to his current role at FedEx Logistics. He now oversees shipment clearance processes, resolves regulatory issues, and ensures compliance with governmental standards.
