JEREMY BANAS is a freelance beer writer based in San Antonio, Texas. He is a co-author of the book 'San Antonio Beer: Alamo City History By The Pint', he is a contributor to San Antonio magazine, the Brewers Association’s CraftBeer.com and his own website, RuinationPress.com. He is active in the Texas craft beer scene, serving as a founding member of San Antonio Beer Week and as San Antonio city chair for the Texas craft beer advocacy group Open the Taps. A longtime homebrewer, Jeremy also comes from a proud brewing tradition. His cousins, Carl and Joseph Occhiatio, were the last owners of the historic Tivoli Brewing Company in Denver, Colorado, from 1965 to 1969; his grandfather also worked there. Jeremy has achieved the designation of Certified Beer Server in the Cicerone Certification Program and is working toward his Cicerone certification. He resides in San Antonio with his three boys: Quinn, Jack and Maxwell.
