John Wayne Hawkes is a writer with a day job and the writer of the Marcus Dolye Series, the first of which, the Amazon Bestseller Dark Night of the Soul, is available through Amazon.com for Kindle. He has three children (all girls) who account for the patches of grey hair he sports in his early 40’s.
He lives in Fresno, California with his girlfriend, Francis (who works very hard to keep his ass in line) and two fish named Tacalita and Fish J. McFish, Jr. Don't ask about Senior that was tragic.
He is a hack who would be just at home at a typewriter in the bowels of a pulp magazine as he is at the desk in the corner of his bedroom. He doesn't mind being called a hack rather than an artist due to the fact that he has never heard anyone use the phrase “starving hack”.
His mind is often in the world of his various characters unless he's driving, making love or eating. Though in reality driving and eating often contain random thoughts of characters and strange worlds.
He writes Dark Urban Fantasy, Crime and Horror in the formats of short stories, novels, screenplays and graphic novels.
He also talks about himself in third person when he is writing his bio.
