60Joseph Rallo is the Chief Executive Officer at E.F. Hutton & Co., a firm he revived in May 2020 to restore its strong legacy in investment banking. Through his leadership, E.F. Hutton became one of the most prolific IPO underwriters by deal volume in 2022 and early 2023. With more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector, Rallo has closed over 500 transactions, generating proceeds of more than $60 million. His calm leadership, client-first mindset, and ability to navigate complex markets have made him a trusted figure in the industry.
Rallo’s expertise spans a wide range of financial services, including initial public offerings (IPOs), special-purpose acquisition (SPAC) offerings, mergers and acquisitions (M&As), debt capital markets, leveraged financing, restructuring, recapitalization, and private placements. Known for his strategic thinking and attention to detail, he approaches every transaction to deliver long-term value to clients and stakeholders.
Joe Rallo began his career while attending university as a Summer Analyst in Equity Derivatives at Lehman Brothers. After graduation, he spent ten years as Vice President in the Financial Institutions & Real Estate Investment Banking Group at Citizens JMP Securities. Later, he became Co-Head of Global Investment Banking at Aegis Capital Group before co-founding E.F. Hutton. His leadership philosophy is rooted in six core principles—leading by example, mentoring younger professionals, fostering open communication, setting clear expectations, delegating purposefully, and managing time effectively. Rallo believes that integrity and ethical decision-making are essential to building lasting success.
When Rallo launched E.F. Hutton during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, he prioritized innovation and flexibility. He and his leadership team introduced digital systems that allowed seamless remote collaboration and ensured consistent client service. This approach helped the firm thrive despite market volatility and positioned it as a trusted name in investment banking.
Beyond his professional work, Joseph Rallo is deeply committed to philanthropy. He and his wife support global initiatives in education, healthcare, and youth development. He serves on the boards of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Lang Lang International Music Foundation, and the Rousseau Foundation.
Rallo holds a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, where he played Division 1 Lacrosse and co-founded the Irish Fighting for St. Jude Kids. He also holds FINRA Series 24, 63, and 79 licenses and resides in New York City with his family.
