61I was born the "little witch" and the sixth of seven children. We lived in a small town in southern Ohio in a house that my mother had built with the help of my older siblings and her own two hands. My oldest sister taught me to read at the same time as she taught me to speak.
We left Ohio when I was five and my mother dragged us all over God's creation. My youngest brother was born in Idaho. By the time I started seventh grade we were living in the high mountian desert of New Mexico.
There were a bunch of us and we never had much money. We learned to be self sufficient: gardening and canning, raising chickens, rabbits, and sometimes other animals, hunting and butchering our own kill, making and remaking lots of useful things. We even made our own entertainment and for the most part we were a happy bunch.
I survived a couple of failed marriages before I married my wonderful husband. Our children are grown and on their own now and our love still burns bright. I guess it is true- you sometimes have to kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince!
I attended the University of New Mexico and have worked at a wide variety of jobs for pay but I've always thought of my main occupation, my career if you will, as mother, wife and now grandma.
My hobbies include reading, writing, genealogy, cooking, gardening and sewing (among other things). I also collect old movies, cookbooks and dolls.
I have a few personality quirks. If you ever get to know me it won't take you long to figure this out so I won't go into that here.
Most of my beliefs would fall into the Christian catagory although I do not belong to any organization or established church. I can see the Creator in the creation. I try to love everyone, especially the people I don't like! There is a reason for everything and we are all responsible for our own actions.
At present I am working on writing Double Circle, a sequel to my first book, Opal's Circle (which I think still needs some fine tuning) and I have a third book in my head trying to leak out. What a mess!
I live with my husband, Dan and Charlie (the cat) in Loganville, Georgia.
