My name is Josh and I am currently enrolled at Providence College. I have a interminable fascination with knowledge and am overjoyed at the ability of exchanging info, ideas, and opinions via hubpages.

I have always been captivated with subjects such as History (especially U.S. History), Astronomy, Theology, Philosophy, and Literature. Providence College offers a sensational course known as the Development of Western Civilization that can best be summed up by the following:

"One of the best descriptions of our cornerstone course at PC came during a campus visit just a few years ago. One prospective student asked the telling question, "What is this thing called Civ?” In response, Dr. Rodney Delasanta, professor of English, opened his desk drawer and took out two rocks. In one hand, Dr. Delasanta held a rock from the Acropolis in Greece and in the other, he held a rock chipped from the Berlin Wall. Short Bio:

I'm a mut; consisting of many different races and ethnicities. However, I'm mainly Portuguese--even though I am more accustomed to plainly say "American". I've been through more than people might judge from my age. I've lived with several different families all across New England. My father passed when I was 4 years old and my mother has never been stable enough to care for me or my three older brothers. I have had the ability to overcome such horrendous obstacles by my faith and ardent pursuit of knowledge.
