I have always been a rural country girl in the northeast. I love the mountains and the outdoors, but winter can be a bit long. As I write this bio it is currently the end of spring; my absolute favorite time of year when the entire warm season lays ahead, the winter (and mud) all are past and everthing is green and blooming. For about six months out of the year I complain that I would rather live in the south. My husband of 24 years loves the cold, and now that we have our own roots with four children and two grandchildren, I will probably continue to complain a little...and praise a lot. Praise God who made these mountains and hills and (beautiful) seasons which come and go, and praise him for the family he has given us.
Raising a family alongside my husband and getting to know myself along the way, has been the focus of the last twenty-some years. I have learned a lot both from my own upbringing and from the people around me, ones God has placed in my path. I am blessed to have a vivid memory of wonderful childhood days, and the hardships and trials my single mother faced were obscured from me through her everyday smiles and wonderful dinner and desserts! I am the baby in the family that my mother raised, and my four older siblings; two sisters and two brothers, whom I grew up with, are as close to me as my own breath as well as the younger brother and sister I grew up apart from; even though this busy life prevents us from seeing one another most of the time.
In my highschool days I pictured myself doing many different things, even raising a family, but never did I imagine the actual path I have taken. Quite surprising to me is that I am neck deep in running a registered home daycare and recently celebrated my 7th anniversary as a NYS Registered Provider, and just passed my 22nd year as a homeschool mom. With all the above facets combined, I imagine what runs out of my heart will stem from the foundations of home and familly, with the antics and teachings from little children.
