Joined 11 years ago from Texas
I was born in Central Texas and converted to Catholicism via family vote at age 9 years. My first "real" job was as assistant trader in an OTC firm in NYC. I worked in the PR industry (not writing),and a Japanese worsted woolen company again, in NYC; motel management in Arkansas and San Diego, California;; secretary and assistant trader to an economics professor in a major Dallas brokerage firm. I've worked as a production artist and art director for a small import/export firm; and accounts receivable for an oil field measurement company in east Texas. Plus a few other things I don't have room to add.
I decided to get an education: I got an academic GED and started taking classes at a local community college. I loved college so much that it took me 20 years and the firm, insistant hand of my college counciler to get an associates degree in Arts (better known around here as general studies).
....and while I was working on that...
I earned a bachelors degree from University of Metaphysics International. I became a 6th level One Brain facilitator; went on to add Reiki/Master/Teacher to that and I have a few color belts of Aikido practice under my belt. I am also proud of the many awards I have won at local art shows over the years for my paintings.
My first husband has passed on to heaven and I am good friends with the other two ex's and their families.
My son and daughter are all grown up and living their own lives.
I have five grandchildren, four great grandchildren ( in the north of the USA).
I live with thirteen dachshunds, a standard Collie, and about six, and maybe,up to ten, feral cats...hard to tell as I can only pet two of them and the others all behave like I am out to strangle them when I put out their food everyday.
Most recently I decided to try my hand at opening up an audiobook store on line. It is not easy, either! =o( But, It is a learning thing.
And last but not least, I have written in my daily journal since 1982. How's that for practice? =o) I also won 2nd place in a 3 campus writing contest. I was told by the judges that it would have been first if my professor had done his part and let them in on what the assignment had been...got a lot of apologies from my blushing teacher! Ya'll keep writing! =o)
