67Kevin Tumlinson is the Wordslinger—Author, Blogger, and Host of the Wordslinger Podcast. He has spent most of his career writing and producing content for all forms of media, usually while wearing no pants whatsoever. Kevin is the author of numerous books—both fiction and non-fiction. He works with writers and would-be writers, teaching them how to get better at their craft, and to build and live their own pants-free lifestyle. For most of Kevin's career he worked as a full-time copywriter for clients such as ExxonMobil, Cameron, Sysco Foods, Aggreko, Jiffy Lube and HP. He has won numerous awards for his work, for both copywriter and for video and film production. In 2012, his work for Fund for Teachers was viewed by President Obama and the rest of the White House guests and staff at a ceremony honoring teachers, and that same work took home a Gold Addy from American Advertising Federation that year.
Kevin is a frequent public speaker at events and in schools, where he shares his expertise and insights into writing as a career and as a passion. He particuarly enjoys speaking to teens and college students about self publishing (also known as independent or indie publishing) as a career. Kevin is the co-host of the Self Publishing Answers Podcast, alongside author Nick Thacker, where he answers questions about the self publishing landscape every week.
Kevin's own show, the Wordslinger Podcast, is a fun and inspiring look behind the curtain into the lives and careers of some of the most amazing entrepreneurs in the world.
