I am a newbie to Hubpages and can't wait to start hubbing (not sure if that's really a word, but I'm using it). I am a single mother of two, recently divorced, and about to graduate with my Bachelor's degree in history. As I am about to go back out into the world I realize that I am actually going to miss all the researching and writing papers so I have joined Hubpages to continue my love of learning and educating.
Whenever people hear that I am going to school for history I get, "Oh, do you want to teach?" and my immediate answer is "NO!" Honestly, I wouldn't mind teaching, it is just that the public school system needs a major over-haul before I even think about doing that. I have often contemplated writing something on the matter, and still may, so keep an eye out for that in the future. My love actually lies in real life, hands on history, such as archeology and museums. I believe that going out and being able to touch the past is so much more interesting and memorable than reading about it or hearing about it in a classroom. So, it is my intention to continue my education with an online Master's in Museum Studies while working to support my two wonderful kiddos. So, please be patient with me if a great amount of times elapses between hubs.
On top of my love of history, I am also an avid reader and lover of all things geek/nerd. I hope to be able to publish hubs on topics such as literature, movies, television and sci-fi/fantasy, as well as other misc ramblings.
