My writing experience is derived, in part, from my position of eight years as a documentation coordinator for a company that manufactures pressurized flight suits for NASA and US Air Force pilots. I worked in research and development and was responsible for generating and maintaining all department documentation. I wrote test reports reviewed by individuals at NASA and the US Pentagon. (Believe it or not!)
I was also employed in an administrative position at a all male federal prison for a short time. When the associate warden decided to move me from the low security camp to the high security mental unit with all the psychotic inmates, I promptly quit without giving a notice or having another job lined up. That put an end to my short-lived career as a overpaid government employee.
Amazingly, exactly a month after quitting, I was hired as a writer in technical publications for a company that manufactured test handlers for the major electronic component manufacturers. ( I was earning more money too.)
A year later I was laid off, but five months pregnant, which suited me just fine. (Oh yeah and happily married!)That was the plan to stay at home and raise a family. It just came a little sooner rather than later.
In 2001, I began my most rewarding "job" as a stay-at-home mom. I have two boys ages 8 and 5. My youngest child is in kindergarten and my goal is to continue writing.
In 2008, I worked for an online business ghostwriting product reports, articles, blog entries, and web content. Recently, I wrote articles, press releases, web content and an extensive media kit for a cookbook author. Refer to my portfolio here.
I enjoy reading, movies, comedy, cooking, getting together with my friends and spending time with my family.
