I am an outdoor enthusiast that loves adventure and a self-proclaimed foodie. My outdoor adventures will include river kayaking throughout Michigan’s Lower and Upper Peninsula’s, biking, hiking, snowshoeing, both fly and kayak fishing, fly tying, and camping. I love to play with my food. A recipe is merely a guideline that needs to be altered to fit one's personality. As a child, I was made to help my mother in the kitchen as a punishment but quickly became the student to the best cook I have ever known. I love my slow-cooker and do not believe in complicated dishes. My recipes go after comfort and add a touch of my outdoor enthusiasm with additions of venison, bison, and freshly caught fish. I volunteer as a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and write safety instruction information for paddle craft for the Auxiliary, and participate in the Food Services program. I enjoy reading outdoor adventures from Gray’s Sporting Journal with an occasional Nicholas Sparks or Stephen King novel thrown in. I will be writing about anything that strikes me, from food or fly tying, to how to pick out your first kayak and gear.
