I have a background in biomedical sciences. I have completed my undergrad in microbiology honours and am currently pursuing Master of Science in human genomics. Although my fields of interest mainly include clinical molecular genetics, evolutionary biology and archaeogenomics, I am also interested in geopolitics, philosophy, religious studies, spirituality, history and literature. So, basically anything that piques my mind attracts my intellect.
I love reading, especially fiction. I'm into music as well, with emphasis on Indian classical. I also harbour a fascination towards the visual arts; I could spend hours on end at a good art gallery. Let's just say I appreciate the aesthetics and subtle aspects of life. I started developing an interest in writing a few years ago, when I was in high school. However, for a long time, I couldn't find a platform to express my views, opinions, ideas and perspectives. I'm glad I found this one.
I would define myself as a consciousness with an open mind and a curiosity about anything and everything. I have a simple way of life, to explore every dimension of life to the greatest possible extent and to never stop asking questions. I am of the opinion that asking questions is the most powerful tool of the human intellect. For when we ask questions, even just to ourselves, we open ourselves to new ideas and possibilities. In doing so, we develop a certain curiosity that compels us to seek the answers for ourselves, enabling us to explore. Another thing that I employ in my life (or at least try to) is to be honest to myself. Honesty to oneself is one of the greatest services one can do, for it allows one to realise what one actually wants from life, and muster the courage to pursue that as well. The pursuit of happiness is not mutually exclusive from the former.
