I'm a very busy woman with a very full life. And I like it that way. There's never a dull moment to be sure.

In my business life, I'm the proprietor of Laurie's Cobalt World which offers quality cobalt blue glassware for the home. I'm especially pleased to offer many American handmade glass pieces which are rare in this day and age.

In my family life, I'm kept quite busy with the three of our four children who still live at home (with the help of my wonderful husband of 23 years). Along with the children, we raise long-coat Chihuahuas on a small scale. We love them!

All four of our children were adopted as newborns. From time to time, I may write about those experiences, which are rich and varied. One of our children is diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Those experiences are tough and painful.

I have two main hobbies: raising grand champion Holland lop rabbits and ballroom dancing. I also love to entertain guests.

I write two BLOGS: The Nature Trail Rabbitry Blog and Laurie's Cobalt World Blog. The Nature Trail Rabbitry Blog mainly concerns raising show rabbits, but there are humor posts and posts on competition and sportsmanship as well.

The Laurie's Cobalt World Blog is about living life to the fullest. I believe in living life deliberately and thoughtfully and never going with the flow unless that's what you specifically choose. Taking time to do in life what you value most is very important to me.

My former career was in human resources in personnel research and development. I earned a BS in Pscyhology from Western Carolina University and then went to work in Atlanta, GA. I never really cared for city life, except being able to go to the Atlanta Braves games. I'm much happier living in a very small town and working from home, even though the work is much harder and the internet connection is very slow.

I enjoy writing and look forward to sharing many observations and experiences with you. Don't forget to request a hub! I'm willing to answer.

My husband and I adopted our children. We went through years of infertility treatment and the usual trials and tribulations before we finally brought our first child home. We really wanted to be parents. And finally we were. We had hopes and...

My grandparents had Chihuahuas. I hated them. They bit. They were loud. They only liked my grandparents, especially my granny. To a child, a dog is supposed to be like a Labrador puppy - friendly, furry, cuddly. These were not. So I grew up not...
