Capture Your Story
There are many ways to tell or capture a story. I have been conducting life story workshops for 8 years. My experience documenting family history, genealogy, and research, spans over 20 years. Classes focus on helping participants select a media that is comfortable for them. Here is a list of some options.
1. Write a Story with pen and paper.
2. Type your story.
3. Input your story into a word processor.
4. Use a genealogy program to create a family tree.
5. Build a shadow box.
6. Create a scrap book.
7. Use free online resources to research information.
8. Learn about free family history research Libraries
9. Build a Memorial.
10. Make a Photo Album that tells a story.
11. Record an oral history.
12. Shoot a video.
There are many other options, including creating a state of the art DVD, which is easy to view in a group setting, or family gathering.
Classes are tailored to the individual or group needs. I have helped individuals write their autobiography and written biographies for people who need more assistance.
Classes are often taught in senior centers, senior communities, churches, community centers, clubs, schools, and many other settings.
Some participants learn skills to create marketing tools enabling them to share their groups history and promote membership. Other participants want to capture a a life story to share with their family. If you are interested in more information, so you, or your group, can capture your story, call me today.
