Hello, I'm Melissa (as you probably have guessed) and love writing as a hobby, expressing my opinions and different loves. I'm 21 and from England. I live on a small island but was born in the city and that's where I belong.

I guess I'm a little different to the majority my age. I love vintage things as well as the great old films and music. My favourite seasons are also autumn and winter.

Ray Davies, leader of the British Invasion band the Kinks, once wrote about misfits, well that could have been about me!

My loves include very old films. I love all of the classics because of the actors / actresses themselves, their character and the beauty of the cinematography. I also adore the majority of music. I will listen to most genres from old jazz to rock 'n' roll to folk. I don't know what I would have done without music in the past few years.

My favourite subjects at school were geography, history and English. I always appreciate a well-written piece of writing, as consistently correct English is so appalling these days.

Anything that is old or vintage means I will fall in love with it, I suspect! I have got an obsession with 1930s-50s style and vintage clothing, particularly girlie tea dresses or blouses and skirts etc.

I love clothes and shoes but as a girl, it's only to be expected!

I love sport since as long as I can remember. I follow Arsenal but am willing to try any sport. Again, the history of the team and sport is of great interest to me. Particularly Arsenal in the first half of the twentieth century.

I also enjoy the company of friends and those who share similar interests, not to mention those who come from other cultures and nations. I would love to travel the world. I also like to know what is happening around the world news-wise as well as nationally and locally.

My favourite city thus far is Barcelona.

I find photography, particularly travel or tourism photographs, interesting.
