Hello, I grew up in Ohio and spent a lot of my summers visiting the Ohio Amish. When I married my husband, he was an accomplished woodworker and outdoorsman. He enjoyed the fine craftsmanship and the simple Amish back-to-basics lifestyle. He also quickly developed a passion to learn all he could about living self-sufficient.
Together we enjoy growing our own gardens, fresh fruits, and making everything we can homemade. We have spent over 30 years on the back roads of the Ohio and Indiana Amish communities looking for products and knowledge for our own sustainable living. Along the way we have developed even more of an interest in this fascinating country sustainable culture.
My husband and I are dedicated to helping others find their own self-sufficient lifestyle as well as helping promote the small cottage based businesses and business owners that they have developed relationships and friendships with.
I have become a freelance writer of sorts to share our experiences, ideas and products we have found to be useful.
