I moved to Ontario, Oregon on October 31, 2015 from Portland, Oregon. I was able to buy an old home at a reasonable price. I was renting rooms in private homes, paying an average of $500 a month. I decided I would rather be paying a mortgage on my own home, rather than paying somebody else's mortgage. This is the first time in my entire life, that I've purchased a home, so I know nothing about it. I'm enjoying my home and I like it here in Ontario. The population is only 11,000, so it is much different than living in a big City like Portland. I enjoy driving here, where there's no stress dealing with a lot of traffic. I also go to the gym and workout 3 or 4 times a week. There's a fun class for seniors, doing aerobics for an hour. Some days I workout on the weight machines and elliptical.

I have always enjoyed writing. I've kept a journal for the past several years. I attended a writing group in Portland, and was able to learn some wonderful things about good writing. I found out there's a writing group in Ontario,but I've only attended one meeting. The facilitator is trying to set up a different place to meet, due to the times. There doesn't seem to be much interest, because of meeting during the dinner hour. I'm planning to go to the public library and see if they might have a room for our group.

I'm looking forward to writing stories on HubPages. I hope my writing will attract many readers. At the present time, I'm writing my autobiography, which consumes a lot of my time.
