First of all I want to let you know that I’m just your average guy that is no different than you. I’m not an Internet marketing guru, and I’m not some kind of network marketing expert. I’M JUST A COPYCAT! All I do is copy what the leaders are doing. Very Simply, I’m a “CopyCat Multi-Preneur.” Before I get into more of what that is and why you should become one, let me share with you a little about my story.
My background in the working world has been mostly in the sales industry. I’ve worked in the sales industry for most of my life. It’s the only thing I have ever known and was ever really good at. But to be honest with you, I’ve always hated it. The daily grind and always having to be fake to get what I wanted always at me. Playing the sales game just wasn’t who I was as a person. I always wished I could just be real with people, but “The Game” wouldn’t let me. To survive in the sales industry you have to become someone else, and that other person wasn’t someone I liked. The problem was that I had no other choice. I wasn’t good at anything else and the sales industry was the only thing that paid well.
Throughout the years I’ve seen many peoples lives ruined in corporate America because they lost at “Playing the Game.” Their lives were shattered because they wouldn’t conform to what “The Man” wanted. I learned very quickly over the years that I would get swallowed up just like everyone else if I didn’t learn to “Play the Game” and play it well. Learning all the rules, tricks and politics of corporate America was exhausting.
Needless to say after years of frustration, I was desperate for a change. I knew the corporate world wouldn’t give me what I needed. I always desired freedom and I knew I couldn’t get it working in corporate America.
That’s when I decided to become a network marketer. Right off the bat, I became your typical gung-ho, go-getter type, ready to take on the world. I was going to be FREE! All my problems were going to be solved now. I was going to be a millionaire and I was going to get rich quick, so I thought. Oh how naive I was.
I learned real fast in the network marketing industry that I was just another glorified salesperson. The only problem was “The Game” didn’t work for me in this world. I couldn’t convince people to do what I wanted, and the few people that I did convince quit very quickly. I became your stereotypical desperate network marketer that pitched my business to everyone that I came in contact with. Everything was “Great” and I was always “Fantastic.” The problem was I was living a lie. I wasn’t great and I never felt fantastic. I was just as miserable as I was in the corporate world, but now I was living a life filled with false hope. Plus on top of it all I was so in debt from going to seminars and buying tons of products that I didn’t need and couldn’t afford.
The problem was that no one had a cure for what I needed. I was trying to build a business using old network marketing principles that didn’t work very well. I “Made a List, Contacted My Friends and Family, Showed Them The Plan, and Followed Through.” The huge problem was that my friends and family didn’t care about anything I had to say. I had no credibility with them. I got so desperate that I even resorted to contacting people in malls, book stores, gas stations, and pretty much everywhere I went. I became worse than I ever was as a sales person in corporate America. People smelled the desperation all over me.
I always hung on to the hope that things were going to change but they never did. I continued with this endless painful cycle for over 13 years.
Things got so bad in my life that I hated getting up in the morning. Going to work everyday and dealing with the corporate politics made me sick. Getting creditors calling my phone hundreds of times a week wasn’t much fun either. The constant pressure ate at my core and I almost went totally crazy. But something inside me wouldn’t let me quit. Maybe it was sheer pride or maybe it was because I didn’t want to settle for mediocrity.
I always knew that I was better than all of this. I’d ask myself, why won’t my business succeed? Why do I never have any personal success? I followed my up-lines advice and still failed. I paid my dues and still saw nothing.
I have to admit that network marketing was not what I dreamed of doing the rest of my life. It’s a lonely road and probably one of the hardest paths to take to achieve financial freedom.
So why did I choose this path? Why didn’t I give it all up and quit?
I had no other options. This was it for me. I didn’t have a solid profession and I didn’t have the skills it took to become financially free working a job. The lotto didn’t work for me either so what other choice did I have? I could have just settled for mediocrity or I could make the decision to find a way to dig down deep and continue to fight for my dreams.
The battle was hard and gut wrenching at times. I got scarred and bruised many times along the way. When my life came crashing down all around me and I had nothing else left, I nearly quit and gave it all up. The battle got too tough and I was completely done.
So what was the big change that turned things around in my life?
My life completely changed when I came across top marketing leaders Mike Dillard and Ann Sieg. They turned my world upside down and gave me hope again. They taught me business principles and techniques that I’d never heard of before. I was excited, shocked and almost angry at the things I heard because this was the information I had been waiting to hear for over 10 years. Why couldn’t I get this information sooner?
They taught me leadership techniques and strategies that really changed my perspective on the network marketing industry. I learned that the top leaders weren’t joining the “newest,” “pre-launch,” “ground-breaking,” or “get rich quick” opportunities. They simply followed a system of proven marketing principles, strategies and techniques to achieve success.
I learned very quickly that to achieve success in this industry I had to “COPY” what the leaders were doing. It was shocking to me that these leaders didn’t keep their successes a secret. They shared everything openly with the world. All I needed to do was seek them out to get the information I needed.
So what’s a “CopyCat Multi-Preneur” and why should you become one?
