Hello everyone, my name is Carol K. I enjoy writing about different topics and there sure are a lot! This coming September I will be celebrating 25 years working in the travel industry. My family and I have visited many interesting places some of which I talk about in my lenses. One of the best advantages of working for an airline is that when you want to find out information about any destination spanning from Machu Pichu to the Great Barrier Reef, there is definitely someone in the office who has been there! My interest in Squidoo began in the winter of 2009 when recovering from foot surgery. As I was temporarily immobile and searching for a way to keep busy, the friendly and helpful lensmasters welcomed me and made me feel right at home. My favorite offline activities are cooking, tennis, working out and being with family and friends. Besides working full time and helping to support 2 teenage children as they make their way through university, my husband Jim and I own and operate a couple of online businesses. My store, The Wish Pearl, a jewelry and fashion accessories business is strictly online while Jim's is a combination of brick and mortar as well as virtual. I enjoy learning new things as well as teaching others about what I know. From time to time I give cooking or baking workshops from home. It's a great way to combine two of my favorite activities, socializing and eating! Another passion of mine is raising funds for different causes through the organizing of craft fairs. For the past several years, our office social committee has been holding a community bazaar inside the airport terminal open to employees and passengers. A large part of the funds raised go to buy food and clothing for the less fortunate. The idea was inspired by my holiday craft fair lens. I enjoy reading other lensmasters work and hope I can contribute something interesting for others to read.

Over the last several years, pita bread has become a very popular alternative to sliced bread. When I was in grade school, my peers were always interested in what I had for lunch since they had never really seen anyone eating pita bread before....

Making cheese is a lot easier than you may think. The cheese recipe I am going to share is an old family favorite. It has a soft texture similar to the delicious italian bocconcini but tastes a lot different. The only place where it can be...

Here are instructions for Salute the King, the funniest card game ever! We play it whenever family or friends are over, and we always have such a blast! I'm sure you will, too.
