I sprang out of West Coast saltwater dappled in sun kisses, a hybrid of home and public schooling. In 2004 I grafted myself into my husband's christian family. Since that time I have blossomed with a bachelor's in Liberal Arts from CSULB, given birth to redheads, and bought a house. That is the ordinary world I have stemmed from. The new world I am approaching is that of farming. Why I have refused the call of agriculture thus far: lack of funds and experience. I was not born on a dairy, will not inherit a ranch, nor did I marry a farmer. It was not until after college i relalized the twist of fate that I had never outgrown flipping through my countryside board books as a toddler, playing with my great-grandmother's model farm as a child, riding horses as a tween, reading everything by Laura Ingalls Wilder as a teenager, and carrying that old picture of an ancient farmhouse in my purse as a graduate. My mentor is the all embracing internet backed by the testimonies of a few far flung relatives. I am committed to independent learning, change, and challenge. The herald of my approach through wifedom, motherhood, novel writing, and online research...the generous Hubpages. So welcome Shadows and Allies; let us proceed together.
