Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, I left California in 1993 to raise a family and finish college in Oregon. I was over 30 when I earned my degree in History, having decided that I cared more about what I was learning about than about how it would serve me in the working world.
I think that decision was a good one, in that what I got most out of school was not what I learned but how to learn. That was something that had eluded me for most of my life and it made things I've done since much more satisfying.
I am a creature of habit - some good and others, well, less so. I have for a long time wanted to develop my writing and habit is for me a good lever. As I've gotten older, I'm more easily distracted and so have tried publishing a blog off and on for the last few years. But somehow it felt lonely - people might find it but usually not and somehow I felt like I was missing something. I was delighted to find HubPages, as it is a community of people from a variety of backgrounds with different interests and passions. The people I've corresponded with here are tremendously friendly and encouraging and I am again finding pleasure in the act of writing and editing.

Othello Tag Cloud Iago has always been, for me, one of Shakespeare's most compellingly drawn characters. Of all the characters in Othello, Iago appears above his peers for his perceptiveness, perspective and humor. He offers more insight into the...
