Hey. My name is Mel Brown and I am an Academic Advisor at a high profile California State University. I am truly a net addict. I do everything from shop to watch T.V. online. I'm a recent graduate Northcentral University (NCU), an acredited online university in Arizona. I also hold a B.A. in Social Science and an MA in Sociology from San Jose State University.
It was my positive experience at NCU that caused me to write/blog about the subject of Higher Education, in particular Distance Learning. One of my writing interests is researching the world of Higher Education--thus all of my blogs revolve around the the subject of Higher Education. Free Online Courses, The Openware Movement, Alternative Approaches to Learning, Higher Learning Access are just some of the topics I blog. I am also interested in helping people enjoy learning new things and promoting life long learning,
Also, I love music--all kinds of music. I could listen to the cool rap lyrics of NAZ at one moment, the next moment enjoy the dark country tunes of Johnny Cash, and then rock out to Pantera. On the other hand, I'm sort of a bookworm. I love to learn, and I instill this in the students I advise.
I would love hear your thoughts and concerns about higher education or any of my blog titles.
Take Care and Happy Reading!
