He also led weekly seminars and financial literacy events to support community education.
Petruska later advanced to a leadership role as Vice President, joining the Boston office’s leadership team. In this position, he focused on attracting, training, and developing advisors across the New England region. He led outreach initiatives to promote financial literacy and guided a team within the Retirement Benefits Group to national recognition. Several of the advisors he mentored advanced into leadership roles. Throughout his career, he supported over 5,000 client relationships and managed more than $450 million in assets.
His contributions to the field have been recognized through multiple awards, including the Management Development Award in 2021, where he was ranked fifth in the country. Michael also received the NAIFA 4 Under 40 Award, and from 2018 to 2021, was honored with the Five Star Wealth Manager Award for his strong client service and professional performance. He has remained engaged with industry groups that support learning, networking, and continued growth.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Bryant University in Rhode Island. During his time at the university, he completed internships in corporate and personal finance and was active in Greek life, intramurals, and lacrosse. He holds FINRA Series 7, 66, and 24 licenses, in addition to Life, Accident, and Health insurance licenses across several states.
Petruska was raised in Bayonne, New Jersey, and graduated from St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City. He met his wife while attending college, and they married in 2004. They currently live in Milford, Massachusetts, with their three children and two French bulldogs, Zoe and Mia. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking with his children, traveling with his family, playing golf, staying active, and spending time outdoors.
For more than a decade, he has volunteered as a coach in the Milford Youth Baseball League and spent three years coaching youth football. He also donates annually to the Pan-Mass Challenge, a bike-a-thon that supports cancer research and treatment through the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund.
