60The world and the people in it are what I am interested in! Living environments, habits of societies, the governments they elect and that weird connection between all of us that is in some ways obvious but in other ways a complete mystery. That thing that isn't tangible but as you get older, you can't deny. We are all separate but together, and I am forever enthralled with the goings on of how we exist in such a state.
I don't follow any religion but am interested in why others do. I grew up in a Christian house, but I don't call myself a Christian anymore. I have grappled a bit over what I am and why - I think my teen ager is smart to suggest that we shouldn't have to come up with a category for what we are beyond "human being." I don't know if that is a realistic thought for this day and age, but I like it.
Otherwise, I clean houses to make money; this might sound mundane but I put my heart and soul into it and my patrons - uh - clients(?) love me for it! I run a *green* housekeeping service, but a better descsription would be *mindful* housekeeping service. I am not opposed to using bleach or swiffer dusters on occasion - because rigidity is not mindful.
I am a very mushy, doting mother of three clever and beautiful children (two teens and an 11 year old) and one silly dog. Ok, OKAY! I have a cat too . . . I am willing to keep her and continue feeding her because she is the best pest control ever! My kids are the bane of my existance and the delight of my life all at the same time. If you are a parent, you understand. If they aren't driving me nuts, I am worried about their well being. It is utterly maddening to be a parent. I don't recommend it and I do.
For fun I love to piddle in my garden and hope to become more serious about it. When I say serious I am talking about gardening for a homestead, a small farm. Partly because I think I would love it and partly because it seems like such a smart thing to do and learn and teach to others. I love teaching. If I ever finish college I will probably teach science or whatever (agriculture? there is no degree to be had in homesteading - yet!).
If I were to meet you in passing, on a bus or in the grocery store or somewhere, it is very likely that I would find a way to know your basic life story in a matter of minutes - it might sound corny but the world is my classroom and everyone is my teacher!
