Montana Jim

Born in CA. 1966, our family moved to Alaska when I was in 1st grade, 1971...We lived in 6 different towns over 20 years, after my parents retired they moved to Montana. I have travelled and worked all over this Wonderful Country, lived and worked in 9 different states, Commercial Fishing, Logging, Truck Driver,Chef,Fiber- Optics Tech,Poker Player,Courrier, Laborer.....I’ve seen and done some Amazing things and through it all I have found Montana is where I will Stay.

Our Family has always gathered for Birthdays Holidays and Special Events , Food and Laughter has always been a big part of those Occasions.

I have Always loved food and had a Desire to try Eating and Cooking new things...I am Irish and have a weakness for over indulging...and as I grow Older and Wiser...I have learned that Eating the Foods you love is not wrong..If done with good sense and moderation.

I am going to share my life stories Funny, Tragic, Touching and Sad..and the Wonderful Recipes My Family and I have Developed, Found and been given over the years...Along with the things I have learned about Cooking Healthy WITHOUT giving up Quality, Taste, and Paying more than you should for Eating Right.

I have always had a weight Problem...and in 2010 I broke my knee Hunting...Spent 4 months with no exercise watching TV and playing Internet Poker...at my peak weight of 465lbs...I had to change things...or Die.

I have Lost over 140 lbs.(06-15-12 )and losing..I owe many people for my weight loss...My Parents...and Family for the support. And a special someone who will go unnamed.(the inspiration for some of my Poetry)...but it comes down to Eating Right and getting Daily Exercise. Drink plenty of water and STOP the Soda even Diet soda.
