joseph gitonga muriithi (muthiri)

Was born in Africa, a country called Kenya, Central province at a place called ragati forest. my father worked there as a forest labourer and my mother as a housewife. my father's name is muriithi ngure kiura while my mother's name is Nancy Gathoni muruiithi. my parents had no education and thus had no option but to work as the forest labourers where they would be allocated different duties like, prunning of the trees in the forest, attending to the nurseries in the forest and watching over the forest property over the night.

when i was just two years old my family moved from Ragati which was on the scapes of Abadares rages and they went to the plains of Laikipia where we lived for a period of nine years. my father remained at the Ragati forest for the purpose of the job but my mother had to live in Laikipia with her nine children by then. This is the place i started schooling at Kiamariga nursery school and later to kiamariga primary school.

I was the last born when we moved to Laikipia but later on my mother had other three children after me two sisters and one brother. this made our family have a total of twelf children. Due to the hardships in laikipia, my elder brothers and sisters could not be able to continue with their education but most of them dropped at grade six, which in kenya, we call it class six. This was sometimes due to lack of school fees and other times they felt that our parent strained too much and decided to lessen the load for them.

Luckily by the time i was at my eighth grade my parents had settled a little bit and could afford to take care of me and my three younger siblings. This could not guarantee me that i will get quality high school education. Upon completion of my primary education, there was no enough money to take me to high school. One of my teachers by the name of Mrs Nguru interfined and assisted me to get some help from a group of Catholic church sponsers who took me to their newly started school.

The school was ran by their money and was very comfotable for us then. Just two years, after our admission, politics broke down our school in the name of registration. This forced us to go back home with no idea whether we shall school again or not. The school was reopened again but this time uder the government management. This is where our problem began, no enough water, no good food, no teachers, no books. people who have been in newly started government schools in Kenya can be able to udrestand what am talking about. By and by, we strugled until the forth form but your know what to expect in such conditions. I missed my dream of ever getting to our public university by two points.

This forced me to go back to high school for two years to enable myself to get to our Kenyan public university. I made it and was admitted to the University of Nairobi to persue a bachelor of education in Science subjects.

There i am right now lookig foward to be a teacher and desiring to teach kenyan students or even abroad how to plan for their future and avoid politics which carry a large curse if not properly carried out. they have made many innocent lives suffer unto even death.
