One of the greatest mankind inventions has to be Fiction. I love fiction. It can be used in a variety of ways. It can be used to manipulate; to teach and to entertain. And one thing I love about Fiction is how broad it is these days. It exists in virtually all media around us- and thus it has paved way for some pretty well-written fiction (The Godfather anyone?).

I'm on Hubpages for four things. To teach, to entertain, review and interact. The last 3 especially. I've made a habit of reviewing weekly TV shows and movies since I was 11, and in writing since I was about 8 (although sadly most of what I had written got lost in a computer crash two months ago). I'll be writing articles on a variety of fiction-related things- from how certain media is now supplanting the other; to the state of the entertainment industry etc. And I do look forward to interacting with the hubbers here. I'm told this place is very pleasant to work in (better than half the sites I've tried anyway).

When it comes to my tastes you need to understand I hate virtually half of the fiction genres. I love fantasy and science fiction, enjoy adventure, action and thrillers, but I despise political dramas, family dramas, romantic comedies etc. I like my fiction to give me an experience I can't have in my own life. If I want family troubles I can move down to Sydney and enjoy my extended family's problems there. If I want to endure the ramblings of politicians I'll move to Canberra and watch another Prime Minister get knifed (That did happen way back in June). I strive for experiences I can't get anywhere else.

If there is one thing I despise is UNCONSTRUCTIVE criticism. That means criticism which is meant to insult and hurt rather than notify the writer/performer of their errors. Politeness and intelligence is key, not insults. I appreciate bluntness most of the time, but anything past that can consult my screw-you box.
