I AM AN OPEN BOOK, BUT ONLY THE LITERATE CAN READ ME.
I truly am an open book. I believe in disclosure and often I find myself realizing I said too much rather than wondering what to add. That's one of the reasons I enjoy writing so much. It gives me time to choose my words and edit out what can be left unsaid.
I am a counselor, teacher, motivator and entertainer, but first and foremost, I am a writer. Through my writing, I manifest all of the other roles. The form of writing I share most with the world is poetry, but I also enjoy journaling, writing children's stories and articles on various topics, such as financial health & communication.
Most of the poems I write are my personal thoughts about my personal experiences and the growth or growing pains associated with them. My poems aim first to entertain, but also to motivate, encourage and inspire. If I can help someone in any way -- with a word, information, resources or a deed -- it brings me contentment.
I also enjoy writing poetry for others' experiences and moments in life. Like a portrait captures a moment in photo, I capture moments with words. I call these poe-traits.
I struggle, I cry often but less than I used to, I laugh hard, and try to find the balance between play & work, need & want, obligation & desire. I search for understanding of myself, those around me and the universe around us and when I find an answer I believe in, I share it and I share the multiple other questions that arise from it and the frustrations from not yet finding those answers.
On my tombstone, I want it to read, "She loved to make people smile."
