Ovid Bruce

I began working at age ten and like my father before me became a roofer for about ten years before the crunch of the early 1980’s and illegal Hispanics taking over the roofing industry forced me to change my occupation to carpentry work. I started out as a grunt hauling lumber up to the top of wherever the carpenters needed them while building custom homes in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After nearly fifteen years, working as a carpenter an injury forced me to quit work and apply for rehabilitation. When applying for rehabilitation I was given a choice by the Oklahoma’s Department of Rehabilitation to either go to vocational training like AC work or attend college and earn a college degree. I chose the latter, enrolling in Oklahoma State University at Okmulgee where I earned my Associates degree in education secondary. I then attended the minority college Langston University-Tulsa where I earned by Bachelors in Sociology. I am currently attending Langston University-Tulsa working on earning my Master’s in Entrepreneurial Studies. Before I returned to school, I was a fifth grade dropout.

I plan to change the way people think of garbage and that will take a lot of attitude adjustment for some to realized the profitability of being first to innovate into low cost low tech sorting sites along with large remote processing sites where all debris will end up in the future. Desiring to change the way everyone regards refuse debris and other unwanted trash articles making their way into landfills today. I come from a long line of hardworking people and I have learned the value of an opportunity when it presents itself, therefore, I will rest when everyone is willing to recycle because it is profitable and by that time, it will be one of the basic standards of doing business in our near future.
