I'm 43 Years old ,

My favourite colour is a deep scarlet red.

My favourite sound is the peaceful breathing of a sleeping child .

My favourite Music is laughter .

My favourite place to be is one where I’m surrounded by love ; the love of my family and my friends .

I love to paint in my spare time .(i dont' really have spare time)

I'm a single Mother of three miraculous children. An aloof Artist lost in a strange world (earth), A Musical type A Humanitarian and Animal Advocate and chef extraordinaire and an eight year old athletic comedian who is an information vacuume and prefers well lit rooms .

I was married for 12 years to a very superstitious wayward catholic musician/courier (the youngest of seven children) and I’m two years into Forging the way through a peaceful separation and divorce. Yay me!

I grew up in a small fishing town in southern Ontario. My father is a Charter boat captain and a retired commercial fisherman .Four generations of fisherman on Lake Erie . He is a jack of many trades beginning as the milk man ,

No my Daddy wasn't the mail man he was the milk man!

Both my parents were children to Orphans .

Both of my grandmothers were orphans from the Barnardo home in England , and part of the child immigration of that time.

My Mother followed her mothers lead and was a mother first in all things and still is .She is also our Sage , the keeper of spiritual healing , love and treatment for everything from a broken heart to a splinter or a stubbed toe , she is the keeper of lost wisdom and the legends of our families , her interest in Genealogy keeps us all honest and in the loop. She has been married to my father for 44 years.

I'm the oldest of four children, three of which defy description and would silence me if I talked about them anyway. Two sisters and then the baby boy. Nuff Said.

I began my education in our small town school , a town child .There was hierarchy , Town children were typically at the bottom of the totem pole but it didn't stop us .

I muddled my way through middles school , a scrawny kid with premature acne who tried to stay out of the way of the tough kids , and most of them were tough kids! The rest were browners or just plain crazy . We managed to have fun. The summer before grade nine I decided to reinvent myself , I had worked as farm labour in the summers since I was twelve and I took a waitressing job at the Chinese restaurant and saved my money to upgraded my wardrobe and fit in at high school with the tobacco farmers kids . Tried out for the cheerleading squad and was head cheer leader for three years with a keen interest in Art and English.

I left school determined to jump into advertising arts , I jumped ship with in a few months and took the better part of a year to regroup. For some reason I jumped into the field of Early Childhood Education ,(that’s a lot of jumping!)

I worked at a Factory in the summer time to help put myself through College , I made 14 dollars an hour making tin cans and was in the steel workers union , then I graduated with honours only to discover they wanted to pay me 7 dollars an hour to care for and educate children . Strange world we live in !

I stayed in that line of work one year and then went to work as a councillor in a group home for adults with developmental challenges.I stuck that job out for 5 years , and left completely burnt out , took a year to regroup and Got married ...and began a family , Mother Nature her self , Determined to have Midwife deliveries if not home births(they didn't pan out) a le leche Legue member , (still can't bleive there is a need for a breast feeding advocacy group!) I was a "stay at home "mom who did anything but stay at home ,

I began a home day care , when my girls went to school I began to work for Reach as a classroom facilitator in a Montessori setting ,( for 2 years) where I could take my child with me for half days . I puttered at that and a night clerk at a Best western hotel for a small stretch in between and following the decline of the marriage I took a job in daycare again at the local Y and stayed for three years , and have recently changed Daycares and am soul searching and wandering aimlessly looking for what it is that I'm suppose to be when I grow up ... All the while mindful of the fact that we must stay warm and fed .
