Paul Wiedmaier (paulwiedmaier)

Paul Wiedmaier is a dedicated Project Engineer with four years of experience managing civil and renewable energy construction projects worth over $90 million. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and has earned an OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification. His work focuses on coordinating diverse teams, maintaining schedules, and ensuring projects meet safety, quality, and compliance standards from start to finish.

For the past three years, he has been with Weiss Construction/Weiss Renewables in St. Louis, Missouri. As an Assistant Project Manager, he manages RFIs, submittals, and design clarifications, participates in field visits to monitor progress, and addresses on-site challenges. He also coordinates engineering, procurement, and construction activities, calculates quantities for bulk materials to support procurement, and tracks subcontractor invoices, change orders, and purchase orders to ensure compliance with contract requirements.

In his role as Project Engineer at the same company, Paul worked closely with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to support a $90 million project, ensuring effective communication and prompt resolution of issues. He contributed to the development of Construction Work Plans with a focus on safety, sequencing, and resource allocation, created an Excel-based asset management and maintenance tracker, verified equipment specifications, and managed plant security access in alignment with site protocols.

Previously, Paul worked as a Project Engineer at JS Vig Construction in Plymouth, Michigan, assisting with scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor coordination. His responsibilities included reviewing subcontracts, RFIs, and RFCOs, performing quantity takeoffs, and helping prepare competitive bids for projects ranging from $500,000 to $20 million.

Earlier, during a Field Engineer Internship with Motor City Electric in Dearborn, he supported operations at the Ford Truck Plant by designing cable tray systems, creating wire tags, reviewing technical diagrams, and collaborating with engineering teams to troubleshoot equipment issues.

In his senior year at Wayne State, Paul was part of the winning team in the Electrical Contracting Innovation Challenge, marking the first victory for the university. He also played Division 1 Soccer at the University of Detroit Mercy and was active in soccer and football during high school.

Outside of work, Paul Wiedmaier volunteers at Holy Family Parish in Novi, Michigan, stays active, enjoys golf, traveling, and reading, and is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, holding dual citizenship in the United States and Brazil.
