Smart Way to Generate income.
A new immigrant to Australia looking for a job? A citizen of USA who has just lost his job due to the recent downturn of economy? Or a new graduate in India who aspires to be a highly paid executive but can’t even get an interview?
Since the time of the Industrial revolution, when thousands shelved their craftsman skills and lined up for a job in a factory, our minds have been seasoned to work for others, for a ‘job’ only. The Indian language word for a job is ‘Nokari’. Interpreted in Sanskrit language it translates ‘No’ + ‘Kari’ = Not Worth Doing.
However, what kind of a job you are looking for? Your suitability for a job will depend upon your skills and/or the academic qualification you have. Those jobs are not available when the businesses are closing down or going bankrupt and the factories stop production due to lack of sales, all around the world.
After all, what is the purpose of the job? To earn some money! Is that right? So what you really want is ‘to earn money’. Would you take a job if you are paid a dollar a day Australia or a rupee a day in India? Certainly not! Although, I have known engineers working as ‘liftman’ in Australia, chemists working in the pubs or restaurants in USA or a double graduate working as ‘Peon’(office-boy) in India - just to earn a few dollars or rupees.
The ultimate goal is to have proper income.
The idea of a ‘job’ blocks all the creativity in the mind of a person. In reality every human being is gifted with some kind of skill. May it be art of painting, creating music, singing, writing, cooking, carpentry, masonry, concreting, gardening, speaking, negotiating, mathematics, travelling, management, and many others. What we really need to do is to remove the barrier from front of this creativity and let the mind flow freely. Once this is done the whole universe is open to you.
You have to be prepared to deviate from that age-old notion of ‘job’ – working for others. Instead of ‘job searching’ you have to think of ‘job-creating’. Then you will realize that you do not have to wait for somebody else to give you a job but that you have the power within you to create your own job, utilizing the skills, ideas, opportunities and resources at hand.
Let me make it easy to understand. A qualification indicates the level of ‘active ingredients’ in a person’s brain. The use of it does not have to be limited to any one field.
There are thousands of small businesses run from home independently by the people who created their own jobs. Many of those small businesses are started and run successfully by the people far remote from the field of their academic qualification.
Let me give you some examples that I know of:
In India a highly qualified executive lost his job. so he turned to singing and music which was his passion. He now has a music studio at home and gets contracts from big functions, TV serials and movies as well. A PH.D. holder in Australia now runs a ‘Healthy Life Café’. A student started lawn moving during vacation now owns and runs gardening business employing others. A housewife started ‘home-delivery’ of grocery, now has a courier service. A mother of four children supplies party-cakes from home.
If you look around, behind every successful small business there will be heart-warming and encouraging story. These are the people who unblocked their minds and went on to create something of their own.
The Universal Life Force who has created the living creatures in this world will want everybody to be happy and enjoy their life to the fullest. He has given everyone a life, full of happiness and abundance. If you look at the animal world, plant life or the under-water creatures, you will not find any unhappy or going hungry. The Universal Life Force is a great provider and ensures that everyone gets the necessary to sustain life and live in happiness. Even the corals on the Great Barrier Reef who are stuck to their base on a rock get their sustenance delivered to them!
So why a human being, who is bestowed with great intelligence and powerful thinking mind has to suffer of lack of provisions and sustenance? Simply because the mind is blocked by last two centuries of ‘job’ thinking which in turn is a kind of a slavery. Let us even stop thinking of the word ‘job’ and think of ‘creation’. You must unblock your mind, give up the thoughts of a job, be motivated and start creating something of your own.
The best and sure way to unblock the capacity of the mind, to remove the barrier from its front, and be motivated is Meditation and Pranayam(Scientific breathing).
Let us unblock the mind with the power of Meditation and Pranayam.
Relaxation
Before you sit down for meditation it is best to relax your body and mind.
For the purpose of relaxation you may sit on a chair or a sofa in a comfortable position or if possible lie down on the floor on your back.
To start with, you first make your body very stiff. Clench your fists very hard, contract and tighten every muscle of your body as hard as you can. Take two deep breaths in that position. Then slowly let go all the tightness from your body.
Unclench your fists and loosen both hands to the limit as if they have become lifeless. Then start relaxing from the toes and work upward on the body, relaxing calf muscles, then thighs, abdomen, chest and finally neck. Feel as if the whole body is lifeless, breath normally, without putting any effort in it. Stay in this condition for at least five minutes, or as long as you wish.
During the time of relaxation, withdraw your mind from thinking about all the mundane things of the life and concentrate on thinking about your body and the process of relaxation only. Appreciate your brain and its capacity. If you wish to think in the modern technical terms, your brain is the biggest and the fastest computer designed by the Universal Force and it is given to you Free! Its storage capacity is millions times more than the biggest computer and its speed of work is thousands time faster than the fastest computer ever designed by a human being.
Also marvel at the efficiency of heart which, on an average, pulsates 72 times a minute(that is 37.843,200 per year) without missing a beat and circulates the blood through the body that keeps you alive and helps you perform the daily functions.
And then there are many glands which take care of different functions in the body. So you have plenty to think about during relaxation instead of letting the mind wander off in unimportant directions.
If properly relaxed, some people may even fall asleep! And that is okay.
Then slowly wake up your body. Stretch your hands above your head, stand up and do a few body movements. Now your body is ready for meditation.
Meditation
First put your body in a comfortable position. You may sit on a chair or sofa., but not slumped into it. Keep your back vertically straight as much as you can.
The best posture, as recommended by the Rushis(The learned men) who researched, experimented and developed this form of mind control thousands of years ago in India, is to sit on the floor cross legged in Siddhasan(Sidhha+Asan) or Padmasan(Pdma+Asan). Siddha means comfortable, Padma means Lotus and Asan means Posture
For Siddhasan you sit on the floor with your legs stretched. Then first bend the right leg, keeping it touching the floor, and rest it touching the toes to the left thigh or the bottom. After that, bend the left leg similarly and bring it to rest on top of the right leg.(you can do it other way around also, that is, bending the left leg first and resting the right leg on top of it.) This position or Asan is considered very comfortable and with practice, one can sit for a long time in this position.
Stretch the two hands straight in front of your body, touching the corresponding knees. Hold the index finger touching the thumb and the remaining three fingers straight.
Close your eyes and breath naturally, slowly and effortless. Do not pay any attention to your breathing and let it happen as it normally does.
At this point, some Gurus(The Teacher) may tell you to stop thinking and make your mind devoid of any thoughts. This condition, though not impossible, requires hrd and long practice to achieve it. Our mind is very active and can never be without a thought, no matter how hard you try. However, our aim here is not to stop thinking but unblock the mind and bring forward your best abilities and the items of your strength which are blocked behind a barrier.
So rather than stopping to think I will urge you to think hard and find out where your strength lies. Remember, your life will be a lot more happy if you are doing the work you love to do, even though it may bring less money in the beginning, compared to the work that may bring in more money but you really don’t like or, may be, even hate to do.
