Quentin Geczy (quentingeczy)

Quentin Geczy, based in London, attended Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, before continuing his studies at the University of Sydney Medical School for two years. He plans to complete his medical education closer to Europe while pursuing a career in consulting and finance, focusing on healthcare.

Throughout his medical school application process, Quentin has remained involved in health and education through research and tutoring. He leads a private education business, supporting students in STEM subjects and assisting them with university admissions. Additionally, he is developing an online company that provides educational materials for various exams, including UK high school exams (GCSEs, A-Levels), medical exams (BMAT, UCAT, GAMSAT, MCAT), and the SAT.

After graduating from high school in Australia, Geczy moved to the United States in 2016 to study science and economics. He earned his Bachelor’s in Molecular Cellular Development Biology (MCDB) and Economics from Yale University. While there, he gained experience working with large datasets using R and applying theoretical models to solve complex problems in economics, finance, and accounting.

Quentin’s MCDB studies expanded on his pre-med courses, and his thesis was titled “Psychedelic Renaissance in Psychiatry.” In his thesis, he explored how the 5-HT2A receptor’s interaction with psychedelics promotes neuroplasticity, which has influenced recent changes in how mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD are treated.

Geczy's economics and MCDB education taught him strong analytical and clinical reasoning skills. His studies also helped him develop the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.

Quentin was also a Division I Varsity Athlete at Yale, excelling in Lightweight Crew. Balancing athletics and academics taught him discipline, resilience, and leadership, which continue to shape his approach to life.

Geczy’s interest in medicine began after a cycling accident at age 13, which led to a fractured femur. Over the years, he faced further health challenges, including another serious cycling accident that ended his athletic career but reinforced his fascination with medicine and the human body.

After graduating from Yale, Quentin attended the University of Sydney Medical School, where he focused on Orthopedic Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and General Surgery. He completed his MD thesis and participated in clinical rotations in Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine, and General Practice, gaining valuable hands-on experience across multiple specialties.

Geczy also contributed to research at Sydney Musculoskeletal Health, where he co-authored articles on osteoarthritis treatment. His clinical experience extended to various medical institutions, including London, Melbourne, and Germany.

For five years, Quentin has tutored biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics students, guiding them through exam preparation and assisting student-athletes with college recruitment. His business has continued to grow, and he maintains strong connections with his clients throughout their university admissions journey.

Fluent in French, German, and English, Quentin Geczy holds multiple citizenships. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, running, swimming, and skiing. Quentin Geczy remains dedicated to positively impacting education, healthcare, and beyond.
