Rebecca Shaw has been performing, teaching and choreographing for over 30 years. She holds a BS in Dance from Brooklyn College and a NJ State Certification to teach dance in NJ public schools. Her dance career has taken her into many realms of dance from Modern Dance to Ballet, to Historical Dance and into the world of ethnic dance.
Performance Credits include: Fall Fest for New Jersey Music and Arts, The East-West Ballet, Dance, June Lewis and Company, Once Upon a Time Theater Company and The Brooklyn Renaissance Consort. She appeared as the Dancer/Actor/Singer in Gheorghe Costinescu’s “The Musical Seminar”, a Shark in “West Side Story”, and a Gypsy in “Esteban” for the award-winning Chalk Circle Players, in New York
She has choreographed and taught for many private schools, public schools and organizations, and has taught toddlers through adults.

Awards: “Ambassadors for Peace Award” in 2005 and a citation for her work as a choreographer from the Senate of the State of New Jersey for her work with New Jersey Music and Arts, in April 2006.
Ms. Shaw studied ballet with Donald Farnworth, Madame Anna Youskevitch, Elena Kunikova, Jack Hertzog and Emilietta Ettlin, among others.
She is trained in and teaches the Farnworth method as well as Cecchetti and Vaganova technique.
She studied Jazz with members of the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, Fred Benjamin and Glenn Brooks, as well as many others.
Her tap training included – Judy Bassing, Bob Audy and Chuck Kelley.
She studied Graham Technique with Pearl Lang and her Company, the Graham School, Dance, June Lewis & Company, Humphrey-Weidman and Limon with Alonso Castro, Sally Stackhouse and Horton Technique with James Truitte.
From 2004 until 2008 she was the resident dance teacher/choreographer for New Jersey Music & Arts in Clifton. Currently she teaches Ballet and Pointe for Dance World Academy in Passaic Park, New Jersey.
