2011 marked Reed's entrance into the mining industry, beginning with a gold mining concession in Oregon that successfully extracted approximately 89,000 ounces of gold. His operations also extended to Chile, where he played a pivotal role in managing and financing a gold and copper processing facility in Copiapo. It was here that he developed a groundbreaking method for detoxifying and recovering precious metals from mining fluids, which significantly improved the environmental impact of the operations.
