Shannon Matteson

As of this writing, I am 35. I live in Florida, of the United States of America, and I make my living selling the self help/self improvement/entertainment programs I create, writing books and photography. (By the way... my portrait is awful, I know. But I hate doing self portraits, and I haven't done one in years. That was merely the only picture of myself I could find at the moment.)

My interests are wide and varied, but do not include sports. I am rather opinionated and strong willed, but I try to keep an open mind and shut my mouth until and unless I am certain I know what I am talking about. Better to be quiet, than be wrong. (I try to limit each unique mistake I make to happening only one time.)

I enjoy writing, reading, learning, teaching, and helping others. I strongly prefer Linux to Windows, but I am forced to use Windows until I don't need Adobe Audition anymore. I'm also a photographer. I shoot stock photography (which is what is used in magazines, brochures, pamphlets, catalogs and other advertising), as well as doing portraiture and artistic photography. When it comes to my artwork, I am not very prolific, producing perhaps one piece every few months. Typically, I print between one and three prints, and then destroy the original so that no more original prints can ever be made. This began as simply losing files to Windows suicides, and has become a bit of a tradition.

I hold an Associate's degree in English, and I am about half way finished with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in photography. My areas of interest include psychology, brain/mind science, philosophy, metaphysics and science.
