Born in Philadelphia, but I've always lived in Jersey, so I am a jersey girl unlike those popularized on cable tv. No big hair, no table tossing, very few expletives...but I sure love the shore! (Better known as the beach to everyone outside of the state!)

For decades I worked as a director of special events and media for a regional department store. It was a wonderful, wonderful job, filled with opportunities to create fun events, write and edit news releases, and help develop a staff of ten event executives who became top notch professionals in their field. We produced everything from charity shopping days that benefitted nearly 1000 non profit groups in three states, to store openings, soap opera star appearances and fashion events.

Nearly 15 years ago my life changed. I was involved in an automobile accident and became permanently disabled through a whole alphabet of medical syndromes including RSD, (reflex sympathetic dystrophy),TOS, (thoracic outlet syndrome), damage to cervical and lumbar vertebrae, and more. After spending years finding a good doc and a better approach to chronic pain treatment, I was ready for a new challenge. I was given the opportunity to raise money for girls in need in NJ and in Honduras, by initiating and developing Kelly's Ride. Kelly's Ride ran for six years, and raised over $350K for the cause.

The ride has run its last and now I have begun writing again personally and professionally. I have written website content, human interest stories, product reviews and more. I am looking forward to joining the Hubpages community!
