Is 50 the middle of your life? or just the beginning?

I am 50 years old and going through many challenging changes again. My husband (5th) has been in Afghanistan for our whole marriage of 7 years. He currently lost his job and will be home on Jan.1, 2014. As I am very excited for the love of my life to return home, the fear of the unknown awaits.

We are also in the middle of a major transition, selling our home and moving to our 40 acres in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to go back to a simpler time in life. Not easier, but simpler. We purchased the land in May 2012. The first summer we had our septic and well put in. This past summer we hooked up to electricity, although I would prefer a windmill set-up, I havent been able to find anyone with the knowledge to install one yet. I just left to come back to our home on Dec 4, 2013. As, I did not want to leave, I was staying in a 42ft. toy hauler, 5th wheel that could not keep up with the weather. It was below zero and the furnace went out, which then resulted to the water pipes freezing. Time to pack up and go! (as I am not mechanically inclined and not a country girl yet)

I am a mother of 5 children and 6 granchildren. They live all over the United States, California, Louisiana, Nevada and Michigan (they have the travel bug in them, as I did) My children were/are my life and I am working on some self-improvement techniques to help me let go. I find that the hardest part is trying to find myself again, as I was labeled Mom for 30 years. I was 19 when my first child was born and sure wasn't knowing who I was then.(although all 19 years olds know it all)

Looking at starting this bio- I was very confused on where to start. If I start from the beginning, it would be several chapter books.

So, I start now, in the middle. The middle of my life, or the beginning?

It is Christmas Eve, the weather is snowing and beautiful here in lower Michigan. I am going to embark on some new territory for myself. I used to love to write and not sure why but I stopped decades ago. I seem to be wanting to go back and do all the things I loved to do writing, reading, snowmobiling, skiing, outdoor activities, enjoying nature and the simple things. I am also looking into many new and exciting new adventures that I never have done like homesteading, canning, preserving food, healthier lifestyle, fishing and a conscious focus on my future dreams and inspirations.

I don't believe that this biography tells you who I am, I can't tell you now but give me another 50 years and I will tell you then.

I do know some of my characteristics are dependable, reliable, honest, punctual, loving and a taurus (for those of you that know that stereo-typical characteristic)

Any hubbers that want to help me out with critisism, inspiration, knowledge or just good ole' advice it is welcomed. I am very new to this process, but old dogs CAN learn new tricks!
