UPDATE AUGUST 7 2017 To all my friends and well wishers on HubPages, I thank you all for your friend requests and wonderful fan mail. I am presently not writing new hubs and have not done so for some years due to the illness and subsequent passing of my Mother. I would like to say that she lived with cancer for a number of years and I stand by the hubs I wrote about healing and her healing of cancer. Her told us she was free of her cancer and i accept that to be true. Unfortunately, she was later diagnosed again with a fast growing type of cancer and was gone before her treatment finished.

I am thinking about new hubs but at present have not been able to start again. Thank you all for your kindness and I apologize for not acknowledging your comments and requests.

Sandra Rone Mireles is a published author who began her career writing historical romance. She attended the first organizational meeting of the Romance Writers of America in Houston, Texas as a charter member in 1980. Her historical romance novel became a Dell Candlelight Regency called Lady Nell in 1981. A series of tragedies and life events moved her career in a very different direction. Unable to write, the years passed while she raised three sons and kept her dreams of writing alive.

Sandra Rone Mireles found herself working at the Methodist Hospital in The Texas Medical Center in 1992 where her interest in people and the needs of diverse groups of people flourished. Through the years she worked in Med Surg, Oncology, Hospice, Gynecology Surgery and Urology Surgery. She obtained certification in the Health Insurance and Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Sandra Rone Mireles graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration and a minor in Communications in 2007. Her expertise includes thesis articles on Death and Dying, as well as introductory Genealogy. She also tested out of basic English I and II at the University of Houston testing center and was awarded 6 hours college credit.

After thirteen years working in a supporting role in nursing, she began a new career as a Regulatory Specialist in Oncology research working with one of the world’s leading experts in the treatment of genitourinary cancer Dr. Robert Amato, Professor and Acting Director of the Division of Oncology at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. Mireles retired at the end of 2008 after three years due to another life event. In 2007 Sandra Rone Mireles’ mother was diagnosed with cancer. She became the primary care giver for her mother until her passing in 2011. This began a long journey looking at health care from a patient’s perspective.

After retirement, Mireles devoted herself to prayer and devotion. She served as a Prayer Minister with her husband Sam at their local congregation for three and a half years. She continues to devote herself to prayer, writing and her grandchildren.

She is the author of three books:

Spiritual Warfare: A Handbook (2008)

Have You Received the Holy Ghost Since You Believed? (2009)

Walk In The Light (2010)

Her article on HubPages: Research Your Family History was honored as an Editors Choice hub.
