61I'm a 66 year old wife, mom, & grandma. Married to the same old geezer for 47 years and still blessed with a marriage worth dying for. I'm just a happy and hyper person with many passions, one of which is writing.
I was born in Metropolis, Illinois in November of 1946, the first daughter of a fire and brimstone baptist preacher of a little country church that looked like it belonged on a greeting card.
Back in those days, it was common for extended families to all live in one home and that's just the way it was with us. Daddy, mom, my 2 younger sisters and I lived with my grandpa, grandma and 2 aunts and uncles..WHAT a house full! But it was a very happy home and family and we made it just fine and dandy.
When I was 9 years old, daddy and mom moved us into our own home and we were living like royalty.
My husband says we grew up in the best of times in spite of growing up in the 40's and 50's and in such a poor and simple time. We grew up in a time when most businesses were closed on Sunday and nobody dared mow their grass on that day and everybody, including their dog, Spot, attended church. I've been stuck in the 50's since I lived in those days.
I've been a homemaker and stay at home mom for most of our 47 years, but worked for 7 years right after our youngest daughter married and until my husband retired in 2003. And I worked for one year for a health food store just to study under the naturopathic doctor that ran that clinic. I also worked as head cashier at our local Hobby Lobby, just for fun to finish out my time of waiting on Billy to retire. I'll be sharing stories from "Register 3" in future hubs, "The Button Story", "The Bride Of Satan", "The Negotiator", "Advice From The Love Goddess" and more.
I've studied natural healing and living since 1977 and I absolutely believe God gave us all bodies that will heal themselves of most diseases IF we give our bodies the nutrients necessary to do just that. And I'll be writing a lot about getting healthy, staying healthy, our PH balance, juicing, raw foods, diet and exercise and more.
I love cooking and cleaning and gardening and my favorite days are spent just foo fooing around our home and I'm very passionate about most things that I'm interested in. I've been church pianist continally for 57 years and I absolutely LOVE evangelistical style piano playing.
I'll be telling stories about my storybook life in LaLa Land and you'll be hearing all about our Uncle Remus tree and how I feed so many forms of wildlife just steps from our back porch. AND when we can, we'll just relax and take a stroll through my secret garden and just talk about old times.
I'm also one of the most indecisive people you will ever meet so this profile will probably be changed a half dozen times over the coming days, so if you're bored and have a little time...just check back here and read my new profile. :-)
I've had my own column in the local newspaper for years and I absolutely LOVE writing and storytelling...but I like to write, just like we're setting across the kitchen table from each other and just sharing the news of the day...
