The sour man (°1961) lives in Belgium, the surrealistic country par excellence where he has been active as a constructionworker , cleaner, carpenter , waiter and had some other odd jobs.
He likes poetry ,Poe and Hugo Claus , but also french litterature and feels a special connection with american writers like Dos Passos and Paul Auster.
He got divorced a couple of times and has a daughter who is a barrister (you don't choose your family) and a son aged fifteen who lives with him (and gives him a lot of trouble).
The sour man is not always sour but most of the times he is , specially after reading the newspapers and watching television .
Anyway , he thinks the world needs sour people sometimes to show the sweet people what is really going on.
Yes , the sour man is a wee bit pretentious.
One thing makes him smile : the sight of Karen J. L. because aldo they disagree on almost everything (she actually thinks angels exist) , he still believes that she is the most wonderfull person in the world .
So , he's also an old fool in love since a couple of years and has no intention of changing that in the future .
