The main subject was a historian and leading member of the communities that he lived in until he was falsly accused and convicted. He spent over twenty years in roles such as economic development, tourism, historic preservation, and downtown revitalization. He has published five books on the history of Oklahoma, and has been featured on several television and radio broadcasts. He has also owned several businesses that have cenered around community development, most recently one that was centered on the arts.
His "retirement" came not from age or lack of business opportunities, but from a source that was least expected. At the end of 2020, he began the process of filing for divorce after learning of his ex-wife's physical and mental abuse of their young son. He has endured the loss of his son, physical and mental violence, stalking, loss of friends due to the threat of violence, lost of respect from the communities he served, and now is enduring criminal felony prison time due to small town politics and a manipulative ex-wife.
In 2023, he got married to a long-time friend whom he had grown close to during the process. She has been a family friend for nearly 10 years and has seen everything that his ex-wife had done. In fact, she has had to endure her own legal and social troubles related to the divorce.
The couple, along with several close friends have all been assulted and have had the legal system used against them. The stories here are their stories. They take an in-depth look at some of the issues that they have faced. When possible, they try to provide answers and assistance to others facing the same problems. While there are no easy answers, maybe this will help push forward the conversations to encourage positive change.
