60Born in Columbus, Ohio to a middleclass family of six is not grand by any means. It is what followed that built the life of Vanessa. Moving from state to state and across the country following the dream of her father and the work that drove him, she was immersed in many cultures, but never quite belonged in any of them. So looking in from the outside gave her a very unbiased view of the world, not forming any lasting friendships until adulthood made it easy to see the various angles of life.
This also made saying "I do" easy, but maintaining it an elusive task. After four failed marraiges, Vanessa decided that maybe a higher power was pushing her in a different direction. That maybe, just maybe, marraige was not what was important, and that maybe that piece of paper changing her name was not as significant as she had thought. Being happy and confident within her life and the choices that brought her to where is now are what she looks back on as important. No regrets, no changes; for each circumstance, each crossroad made her who she is today. And to change any of that, would change who she is now.
Her life today is opinionated, straightforward, honest and full of "don't ask if you don't want to know" attitude. She writes about politics, religion, daily aspects of life and believes that if it touches just one person, makes one person think, gives just one person a different perspective, or makes one person think they are not alone in the world, then she has accomplished more than most.
